April 2nd, 2015 – It’s common knowledge that affordability of quality healthcare is a major concern for the majority of Americans. According to a new study from Washington think tank, The Center For American Progress, the recent slowdown in the growth of healthcare costs has helped, but employee costs continue to rise.
Employees insurance premiums and out of pocket costs for medical expenses rose 21% from 2007 to 2013, while employers total healthcare costs rose only 14.5%. The average annual costs for insurance premiums and out of pocket costs for medical expenses was $3273 for employees in 2013.
