April 21st, 2012 – Contrary to reports that the Health Care Reform law is in serious trouble, Obama Administration Health and Human Services’ Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said that the Obama administration does not have a contingency plan ready should the U.S. Supreme Court rule this June that PPACA Health Reform Law is unconstitutional. “We’re confident the law is constitutional and are moving forward with implementation,” Sebelius said.
Given all the expert opinions that show the Health Reform Law may be overturned, in whole or in part, having no contingency plan may be politically dangerous with the upcoming elections.
While the government’s Health Reform Law did shockingly little to control the cost of health care, health insurance consumers are buying lower cost and Health Savings Account qualified plans at a faster pace than we’ve ever seen. Many people are adopting healthier life styles with improved diets and regular exercise, in part to allow them to justify getting lower cost/higher deductible health insurance plans.
