June 3rd, 2009 – Yesterday, former Democratic Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle sounded quite downbeat about the odds of meaningful health reform being passed this year. Speaking at a debate on health care, Daschle only gave 50/50 odds of a health reform bill getting signed into law this year.
His comments may be very insightful, considering that Daschle was picked by President Barrack Obama to be head the Department of Health and Human Services and to be the “Health Czar” of the United States. Daschle had to withdraw his name after a scandal about unpaid taxes for a luxury car and driver provided by a political donor.
Daschle comments are from a debate on health reform held yesterday at the National Press Club.
